All the basic commands to use GIT

  1. Use CMDER
  2. Install GIT
git init / git clone
git status

git add --all
git add .

git branch <branchname> (git branch dev)
git checkout <branchname>
git checkout -b <newbranchname>

git commit -m "this is the commit message"
git commit (opens up text editor/vim)


git remote add origin remote repository URL
git remote add origin https://github.com/<githubAccount>/myblog.git
# Sets the new remote

git remote -v
# Verifies the new remote URL
Push the changes in your local repository to GitHub.

git push origin master
# Pushes the changes in your local repository up to the remote repository you specified as the origin
